This case study details the design process of Quanteasy, a mobile application designed to simplify investing for beginners while providing a platform for experienced investors to share their knowledge and earn rewards.  I, as the UX/UI designer, was tasked with creating a user-friendly and engaging application within a 30-day timeframe.

Many individuals are hesitant to invest due to a lack of knowledge and the perceived risks involved.  Existing investment platforms often present complex interfaces and overwhelming information, creating a barrier to entry for beginners.  Experienced investors may also lack avenues to monetize their expertise and share their knowledge with a wider audience.

The primary objective was to create a user-friendly mobile application that simplifies the investment process for beginners, while providing a platform for experienced investors to share their strategies and earn rewards. Success was measured by the clarity and usability of the design, positive user feedback, high user engagement with the prototype, demonstrable understanding of the core concept by users, and the ability of the app's concept to attract early investment.

User research involved conducting interviews and analyzing user feedback from the Stanford team and from test users. Competitive analysis examined existing investment platforms such as Groww, Zerodha, and eToro to identify best practices and opportunities for differentiation. This research helped define user personas, representing both beginner and expert investors, and informed the design of key features and functionalities within the Quanteasy app.

The design process began with brainstorming sessions to explore various concepts and features.  Wireframing and prototyping in Figma helped visualize the application's structure and user flows. Iterative feedback from the Stanford team and test users guided design iterations, ensuring the final product was user-friendly and intuitive.  The core concept of ‘pods,’ which allowed users to follow experienced investors’ portfolios, was central to the app's design.

The Double Diamond design process guided the project.  The 'Discover' phase focused on understanding user needs and competitive landscape. The 'Define' phase involved persona development, user journey mapping, and MVP feature identification.  The 'Develop' phase comprised wireframing, high-fidelity design in Figma, and iterative feedback sessions.  The 'Deliver' phase involved finalizing the design, creating a clickable prototype, developing a design system, and preparing deliverables for the development team.

A major challenge was the lack of existing apps with a similar ‘social investing’ model. This required designing all aspects from scratch.  Balancing the app’s functionality as a finance tool with its social aspects required careful consideration of design elements and user experience to ensure simplicity and trust.  Solutions involved a clean, intuitive layout and social features that did not compromise the financial aspects of the app.

The project resulted in a complete end-to-end app design within 30 days.  User testing showed high clarity and usability.  The design received positive feedback from the Stanford team and test users.  The app's design played a crucial role in securing over $10,000 in initial funding.

This project highlighted the importance of thorough user research, even in the absence of direct market parallels. It underscored the value of an iterative design process, allowing for continuous refinement based on user feedback.  If given another chance, more time would be dedicated to explore various social features and integration possibilities.

The Quanteasy app design successfully addressed the needs of both beginner and experienced investors, creating a unique and valuable platform.  The project demonstrated the power of user-centered design and its ability to bring a novel product concept to life within a short timeframe, ultimately contributing to the product’s early success.

I contributed to the full design process—from research and wireframing to prototyping and testing. I designed user flows, UI layouts, and interactive prototypes using Figma, and collaborated closely with developers and product managers to align design with business goals. I participated in usability testing, gathered user feedback, and helped maintain design consistency through established pattern libraries. My daily workflow involved tools like Figma, ChatGPT, Claude AI and Slack.

At Attack Capital, a firm backed by investors like Y Combinator and Soma Capital, I serve as a remote Product Design Intern. I create visually compelling designs, apply design thinking, and conduct user research to inform design decisions. I implement strategic product design initiatives to enhance user engagement and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UX research findings. My work spans from initial ideation to final implementation, ensuring cohesive and user-centric design solutions.

As a freelance product designer at TurtlePic, I'm updating their web app designs. Working in sprints, I revamped the whole software, focusing on user-friendly design. I also crafted striking social media visuals and event materials to boost TurtlePic's brand. My aim is simple: improve user experience and amplify TurtlePic's message.

I designed photobooth creatives featuring iconic European landmarks with Redbull branding for the Wings for Life World Run event. These designs aimed to engage participants and increase brand visibility. Working closely with the PME team, I ensured the smooth integration of the photobooths into the event setup, resulting in a successful and memorable event experience.

During my summer internship at SCMC, I led the design of a carbon accounting tool under Dr. Adirya Gupta's guidance. This involved creating a user-friendly interface and experience (UI/UX) to measure and reduce carbon emissions. I collaborated with cross-functional teams, conducted research, and prepared reports to communicate findings effectively. My contributions helped develop sustainable practices for the organization.

Redesigned Dr. Sarah Schuetz's website, focusing on user experience and reflecting her compassionate approach to healthcare. Collaborating closely with her team, we streamlined navigation, incorporated soothing visuals, and ensured accessibility for all users. The result is a visually appealing and functional website that effectively communicates Dr. Schuetz's expertise and encourages patient engagement.

During my time as an Automation Intern, I focused on implementing automated solutions to enhance operational efficiency. I developed functionalities like Bulk Order Processing and a Chatbot AI, automated email processes, and managed integrations with Google Shopping and Ads. This led to a significant sales increase of 8 Lacs. My experience provided valuable skills in automation, sales, and CRM.
